How Tim Identifies A+ Setups Using Technical Analysis
I get this question all the time:
"Tim, how do you find trades? What's your process?"
Fair question. When you're trusting signals for your hard-earned money, you deserve to know what's behind them.
So let me pull back the curtain. I'm going to explain exactly how I analyze markets—the methodology, the grading system, and why I built this system.
No secrets. Full transparency.
Why I Built This System
Let me start with the problem.
I was spending 8+ hours a day staring at charts. Scanning markets. Looking for setups. And even with all that screen time, I was missing opportunities because I can't watch every pair on every timeframe all the time.
The market doesn't sleep (especially crypto). But I do.
So I developed a systematic approach to analyzing markets—the Tim Warren Method—a repeatable process that removes emotion and applies consistent criteria to every potential setup.
This isn't some magic formula. It's a disciplined, systematic implementation of technical analysis. Everything in this system is something I do by hand with focused attention and screen time.
The Analysis Process
Here's what happens under the hood:
Step 1: Market Scanning
I continuously monitor multiple assets across crypto markets: - Bitcoin (BTC) - Ethereum (ETH) - Solana (SOL) - And selected altcoins with sufficient liquidity
For each asset, it watches multiple timeframes: - 1-hour - 4-hour - Daily
This creates a matrix of potential setups across assets and timeframes.
Step 2: Key Level Identification
I identify support and resistance levels using:
- Previous swing highs and lows
- Areas of price congestion
- Round psychological numbers
- Prior breakout/breakdown points
Levels that have been tested multiple times get higher weighting. A support level that's held three times is more significant than one that's only been tested once.
Step 3: Pattern Recognition
When price approaches a key level, I look for candlestick patterns:
At support: - Hammers - Bullish engulfing - Morning stars - Dojis showing indecision resolved bullishly
At resistance: - Shooting stars - Bearish engulfing - Evening stars - Dojis resolved bearishly
I wait for the pattern to complete—I don't anticipate. A hammer isn't a hammer until the candle closes.
Step 4: Confirmation Stacking
This is where the confirmation system comes in.
For each potential setup, I check:
- ✓ Is price at a significant level?
- ✓ Is there a clear candlestick pattern?
- ✓ Does volume support the move?
- ✓ Is this aligned with the higher timeframe trend?
- ✓ Are multiple timeframes in agreement?
- ✓ Is there at least 1:3 risk/reward available?
- ✓ Is the chart structure clean?
Each confirmation gets scored. The total determines the setup grade.
Step 5: Grade Assignment
Based on confirmations:
- A+ Grade (9-10 confirmations): Signal sent immediately
- A Grade (7-8 confirmations): Signal sent
- B Grade (5-6 confirmations): Logged for review, no signal
- C or below: Ignored completely
This is the key differentiator. I don't alert on every setup—only the best ones.
Quantity is easy. Quality is hard. We optimize for quality.
What Gets Sent to Members
When I identify an A or A+ setup, members receive:
The Asset: BTC/USD, ETH/USD, etc.
Direction: Long or short
Entry Price: Exact level to enter
Stop Loss: Where the trade is invalidated (Always 3% from entry for consistency)
Take Profit: Target exit level (Typically 9% from entry for 1:3 R:R)
Grade: A or A+
Reasoning: Brief explanation of why this setup qualifies
Everything you need to execute the trade. No ambiguity.

Risk Management Built In
My system doesn't just find entries—it enforces risk management.
Fixed Risk/Reward: Every trade has the same structure - Stop Loss: 3% below entry (longs) / above entry (shorts) - Take Profit 1: 4.5% from entry (partial profit at 1:1.5 R:R) - Take Profit 2: 9% from entry (full profit at 1:3 R:R)
Position Sizing Guidance: We recommend risking 1-2% of account per signal. Use our calculator to size appropriately.
No Overleveraging: The system doesn't take leverage into account. It provides setups; you control the risk.
This consistent structure means you know exactly what to expect from every signal.
What This System Doesn't Do
Let me be clear about limitations:
Doesn't guarantee profits: Even A+ setups lose sometimes. Win rate historically around 45%, but R:R makes it profitable overall.
Doesn't consider your account size: You're responsible for position sizing based on your capital.
Doesn't execute trades: You receive the signal; you decide whether to take it and execute it yourself.
Doesn't work in all conditions: In extremely choppy, low-volume environments, I may not find quality setups. I stay patient rather than forcing trades.
Doesn't predict the future: It identifies high-probability setups based on historical patterns. Nothing more.
Performance Tracking
We maintain full transparency on signal performance.
On the signals page, you can see: - Recent trades and their outcomes - Running win rate - Total P&L percentage - Active positions
Nothing hidden. Every trade is recorded and displayed.
This transparency keeps us honest. If the methodology stopped working, you'd see it in the numbers immediately.
Why This Approach Works
This system succeeds because it applies the Tim Warren Method consistently:
1. Selectivity
By only taking A/A+ setups, we're cherry-picking the highest probability opportunities. I scan hundreds of potential setups to find the few that truly qualify.
2. Defined Risk
Every trade has a predetermined stop loss. No hoping. No praying. If the trade doesn't work, the loss is small and defined.
3. Favorable R:R
Risking 3% to make 9% means we can be wrong more than we're right and still profit. This is the math that makes trading sustainable.
4. Disciplined Execution
The system has strict rules that remove emotion from the equation. No getting scared after losses. No getting greedy after wins. No FOMO. No revenge trading.
It's about applying the methodology consistently, every time.
This discipline is the biggest edge. Most traders sabotage themselves with emotional decisions. A systematic approach prevents that.
How Members Use the Signals
Different members use the signals differently:
Copy traders: Execute every signal at the recommended levels. Simple, low maintenance.
Filters: Wait for signals, then do additional analysis before deciding. Use the signals as a "first pass" to narrow down opportunities.
Learners: Study each signal to understand WHY it qualified. Use signals as educational examples of proper setups.
Confirmers: Have their own analysis, use signals to confirm their thesis. "I was thinking BTC long, and Tim's analysis agrees."
There's no single right way. The signals are tools; how you use them is up to you.
Getting Started with Signals
If you're interested in receiving our signals:
- Join the community through Whop
- Set up notifications for the signals channel in Discord
- Use proper position sizing based on your account (1-2% risk)
- Execute or pass on each signal based on your own judgment
- Track your results and adjust as needed
New members often start by paper trading the signals for a week or two. This lets you see the system work (or not work) without risking capital.
The Philosophy Behind It All
At its core, my signals are just the Tim Warren Method applied consistently to the markets.
If you learn the system—the key levels, the patterns, the confirmations—you'll understand exactly why each signal fires. Nothing is hidden or proprietary.
In fact, I encourage members to learn the methodology rather than blindly following signals. The signals are great, but understanding is better.
If the signals stopped tomorrow, members who learned the methodology could continue trading successfully. That's the goal.
Signals are the fish. The Academy teaches you to fish.
Transparency Promise
I'm not interested in running a black box that requires blind trust.
Ask questions. Scrutinize the signals. Verify the track record. Challenge the methodology.
If something doesn't make sense, bring it up in the community. I'd rather have skeptical, educated members than blind followers.
Trading has enough gurus who promise miracles and hide their real results. That's not what we do here.
Full transparency. Real results. Honest education.
That's the Tim Warren Trading promise.
Trading involves substantial risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Signals are educational, not financial advice.
This is educational content only. Trading involves significant risk. Never trade with money you can't afford to lose.
